Leidos QTC Health Services Reinforces Commitment to Veterans at Legacy of Service Reception
Supporting Veterans and Service Members means more than providing healthcare services — it also means building partnerships that strengthen the military community. That's why Leidos QTC Health Services participated in the Leidos Legacy of Service Reception on June 24, an event that brought together Leidos leaders, Congressional staff, the USO and the Elizabeth Dole Foundation to honor Service Members, Veterans, military families and caregivers.
Held at Leidos' Capitol Hill Office, the reception reinforced Leidos QTC's commitment to serving those who have served while highlighting the partnerships that help support the military community beyond healthcare. The event brought together leaders and staff from across Leidos, including Larry Schaefer, CEO of Leidos QTC Health Services, and Liz Porter, President of Leidos Health & Services, for an afternoon focused on service, partnership and appreciation for the military community.
A key part of the reception included assembling snack packs and writing cards for the USO. Attendees learned the snack packs are often provided to Service Members as they board planes to deploy. The activity offered a meaningful reminder that even a small gesture — whether a handwritten note or a small item of comfort — can provide encouragement and connection during an important moment in a Service Member's journey.
The reception also provided an opportunity to connect with Lieutenant General (Ret.) Mike Linnington, who was welcomed as the new CEO of the USO. His participation highlighted the importance of continued partnership with an organization that has long provided comfort, connection and support to Service Members and their families around the world.
In her opening remarks, Porter reflected on the significance of looking ahead to the nation's 250th birthday while also honoring the Service Members, Veterans and military families whose dedication helped shape the country. She highlighted the work Leidos teams do every day to advance the health, readiness and well-being of the military community, including behavioral health and counseling services, medical disability exams, health record modernization and other mission-critical programs.
For Leidos QTC Health Services, that message closely aligns with its mission. Leidos QTC supports Veterans and Service Members through medical disability examinations and related services that help connect individuals with the benefits and services they have earned. The work requires professionalism, accuracy and compassion, with the understanding that behind every appointment, exam, and claim is a person whose life has been shaped by service.
The event also underscored the value of Leidos' partnerships with the USO and the Elizabeth Dole Foundation. The USO has long supported Service Members by providing connection and comfort throughout their military journeys. The Elizabeth Dole Foundation advocates for military and Veteran caregivers, helping elevate their voices and ensure they receive recognition and support. Attendees spoke with Victoria Chall, a former Elizabeth Dole Foundation Caregiver Fellow and artist, who shared how painting serves as a form of meditation that helps her manage the stress and emotional weight that can come with caregiving. Her conversations served as a reminder of the important role caregivers play in supporting Veterans and Service Members, often quietly and behind the scenes.
Guests also had the opportunity to meet her husband, Dr. George Chall, a 104-year-old World War II Veteran whose life reflects extraordinary service. His presence brought history and perspective into the room, reinforcing the importance of approaching every Veteran with dignity, respect and care.
The Leidos Legacy of Service Reception created meaningful opportunities for connection among Leidos staff, Congressional staff, USO leaders, Elizabeth Dole Foundation representatives, caregivers and Veterans. For Leidos QTC Health Services, the event was a reminder of the purpose behind its mission: serving Veterans and Service Members with the professionalism, compassion and respect they have earned.
